How do I vote in Colorado?

Ballots for the 2018 election will be mailed to active registered voters beginning on October 15. To return your voted mail ballot, either drop it off at a drop-off site in your county or mail it back.

What are the important dates I should know?

Monday, October 15 – Ballots for the election will begin to be mailed to all active registered voters.

Monday, October 22 – In-person voting begins across the state.

Monday, October 29 – Last day to register and receive a ballot in the mail.

Monday, October 29 – Last day for a voter to put a completed ballot in the mail. Then drop off at drop-box

Tuesday, November 6 – Election day! Polls open at 7am and close at 7pm.

How can I turn in my ballot?

  1. Drop it off at a 24 hour drop-box.
  2. Mail it back with two stamps.
  3. Vote in-person at a Voter Service & Polling Center.

I didn’t get my ballot or need a new one. Can I still vote?

Yes. You can request a new ballot be mailed to you any time before or on October 29 by contacting your county clerk. After 10/29, you must request a ballot in-person, or vote in-person at a VSPC in your county.

Who is eligible to vote in the General Election?

You can vote in the General Election if you are 18 years old, a US citizen, a Colorado resident for at least 22 days prior to the election, and not currently serving a felony sentence or are on parole.

How do I register to vote or update my voter registration record?

1) Online at govotecolorado.com

2) In-Person at a Voter Service & Polling Center, driver’s license office, or City Clerk’s office.

How do I know if my mail ballot has been sent and/or received?

You can go to govotecolorado.com to check the status of your ballot. If you have more questions about the status of your mail ballot, please contact your county clerk.

If I am voting by mail, when must the county clerk and recorder receive my ballot?

Mail your ballot back by no later than October 29th as ballots must be received by the county clerk no later than 7 PM on Tuesday, November 6th, postmarks do not count. After October 29th please drop off your ballot.
